Volunteers

Falkirk Otter cannot exist without its volunteer helpers. As swimmers move through the programme parents will be invited to assist. There are plenty of roles, including

Swimming Technical Officials

For those who like to be on poolside this assistance can be by Timekeeping at Developer Time Trials, going on to the formal Swimming Technical Official programme as a Timekeeper at galas, and perhaps progressing to Judge, Starter or Referee.

Coaching Assistants

We welcome parents who would like to help with coaching and we will provide appropriate training and support. Parents can start out assisting informally at training sessions and progress through Scottish Swimming's coaching pathway if they choose.

Committee Members

It is important that we have representation across all squads to make sure that we are considering all aspects of the club. It also helps the club to maintain a pool of knowledge as swimmers progress and parents leave.

Team Manager

Get poolside at your swimmer's gala by helping the coach manage the squad on poolside. Make sure that swimmers are ready for their events and eat and drink appropriately over the session.

Gala Helpers

Less formally we look to parents to help out at club events. This is primarily our own gala which is held at the end of March each year. We ask parents to help sell programmes, raffle tickets, help to marshall swimmers, distribute water to coaches and officials etc

If you are interesting in volunteering the club will support and help you. If you are interested in please e-mail falkirkotterpresident@gmail.com
